Nick Hardway is a third generation Idahoan. He was born in Wallace and has lived in Coeur d’Alene since 1964. He is a graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School and the Coeur d’Alene Community College, and holds an MFA from the University of Idaho.

Nick has been a logger, a miner, a writing teacher and a jailhouse attendant, but worked for most of his adult life as a journalist and writer.
